New Year Celebrations! (For 18 inch Dolls)

Chinese New Year's is coming and time to Celebrate! Our doll model Ivy, on the left, is wearing a long silky black skirt that fastens on the side with velcro. Over it is the included Chinse red brocade top complete with a gold design and side "frog" buttons; imported. (It comes with black hair-sticks but she decided on a gold haircomb today.) Ivy added gold clogs and a white plastic fan (you can too) resulting in a very lovely look!
Julie, our doll model on the right, is ready to celebrate too and has dressed the part in a turquoise Mandarin dress bound in aqua down to the slits at the hemline! It closes with a tiny side zipper and matching frog buttons. Because the butterfly embroidery is accented in copper, we added the copper shoes and big copper handbag for fun. Imported. The stuffed monkey she is carrying is a gift for Ivy's little sister who was born in the Year of the Monkey!

Additional Information: Chinese New Year is an important holiday and on a special Chinese calendar (similar to the Easter and Jewish holidays being on a lunar calendar) so they do not start on January 1st; every year has a special symbol. In 1974 it was the Year of the Tiger; 2008 is the Year of the Rat. The Chinese New Year's Celebration lasts 15 days.
