More on Jess of 2006!
One of the boards that posts American Girl info had the following information taken from the brand new catalog! The writer got the catalog at an American Girl store - and also received approval from the sales clerk to pass on the following information:
Jess has dark brown almond-shaped eyes and loose braids. Her Dad is American and Mom Japanese-American. Her travel outfit is embroidered with a tie-dye print skirt. Jess has a side part in her hair. Her travel accessories include a canvas shoulder bag, letters from her brother and sister back home, a passport, map and guidebook.
Her extra things include a kayak and a kayak outfit; a tree swing chair; a pair of pjs; plus more!
Look for Jess to be introduced end of December!!!

Holiday Gift Shopping!
You may have noticed all the items at American Girl that are now Sold Out such as the matching girl & doll Christmas outfits and Marisol's Ballet outfit . . . well - we're trying to help out at DollCloset.com with our red velveteen girl and doll outfits and our pink ballet outfit (a new one should be up by Wednesday).
Only problem is that time is running out! It takes time to fill orders plus the Post Office is starting to get swamped too. This is DollCloset.com's eighth year sending holiday orders and we've found that for most items mailed by December 16th, Priority Mail gets to it's destination by Christmas (or Hanukkah or Kwanzaa) BUT then the Post Office starts to concentrate only on Express Mail . . . same goes for FedEx which transports our brass beds and trunks . . .
PS: In the eight years, we've NEVER had a customer go without his or her order by December 25th!!

Dolls of the Year
The DollReader magazine has announced the winners of this years competition! The doll companies enter their best bets in January then selected judges (usually owners of Doll Stores) view the entries at IDEX (International Exposition of Dolls) or Toy Fair. They select the best four in 15 categories . . . some of the categories feature very exclusive and expensive dolls!
My favorite categories are Category 1 . . . Children's Play Doll and Category 4 . . . Collectible Vinyl/Plastic Doll less than $150.00
The winner this year in Category 1 is Stilettos Nikki by Alexander Doll Company; in Category 4 it's Thoroughly Modern Betsy by the Tonner Doll Company!
Further good news is that in 2006 we will be able to carry some of the Alexander Dolls AND that we already have Thoroughly Modern Betsy . . . coming to the website soon!
