Ginny 2007 News!

Just spoke with Vogue - the company that makes the Ginny dolls - and the Dress Me Doll will be back to the 8 inch doll this year!! Right now the Dress Me doll is a 7.5 inch doll . . . and they do NOT share clothes or shoes. . . each must have their own.

The catalog should be here by next week - I'll let you know the scoop as soon as I see them!

dear Millie,
I was wondering if you new what the next friend of one of the AG dolls is if you do please wright back.
Love,
Annie

Frome Millie:

IF the plans we've heard go through, the next friend will be Ruthie from Kit's books. Only problem is, we heard that maybe the film would NOT be made for next fall so . . . we're left wondering!

dosn't ruthie have curly brown hair?
any other dolls comeing out?
thanks millie

From Millie:

I think you are right that Ruthie has brown hair . . . but to date Mattel hasn't stuck to the story line and pictures when it comes to the friend doll ie Elizabeth had brown hair too I think!

The only other doll we've heard about is Rebecca, an immigrant, but no one knows more than that!

Dear Annie,
Do you want Ruthie to come out? I do.

Dear Millie,
Do you know anything else about Rebecca? Thanks!

~Sanna~

From Millie:

Apparently she will be a Historical doll for 2007 . . . she's an immigrant from Russia and a reader just wrote in that her name is spelled Rebekah. Wonder what year she represents ??

what's a Ginny doll?

From Millie:

Your grandmother might remember Ginny dolls - they were very, very popular in the 1950's. They are little girls, about 8 inches tall and have lots and lots of outfits . . . every girl had at least one, something like the American Girl dolls today.

The Ginny dolls have been owned by several different companies during the past 50 years but are still going strong. They are fun to dress and come with a brush too. See the Ginny dolls on DollCloset.com - there are Storybook dolls, International dolls and Dress-Me dolls with lots of outfits!
