HBO and American Girl Kit Movie!

The New York Times printed the following on February 22, 2007:

HBO and American Girl, the Mattel-owned retailer of dolls, books, clothes, toys and other goods for young girls, announced an agreement yesterday for the production of films, series and documentaries. The inaugural project will be a live-action theatrical film based on Kit Kittredge, a historical doll representing a clever and resourceful 9-year-old growing up during the Depression. In the last five years television films derived from American Girl have included “Samantha: An American Girl Holiday,” “Felicity: An American Girl Adventure” and “Molly: An American Girl on the Home Front.”

Unfortunately it does NOT say when . . . but at least it is going to happen - I predict in 2008!

i heard something about having some problems with the filming of the movie and that's why they had to post-pone it. but i think they are just coming out with the new historical doll (rebekah or whatever =])

From Millie:

Sounds right to me!

I really don't want a new historical doll. Unless she's Asian. I'd rather have Ruthie and a new Kit doll and the movie. I e-mailed American Girl begging them to come out with at least one movie.

From Millie:

We don't know yet but maybe the new Julie doll is Asian . . . we shall see!
