American Girl Doll - Julie Pictures!

One of our valuable blog contributors just sent pictures of the new Julie books . . . not lots of information but some good clues. In this picture of Meet Julie, it looks like she's on a Cable Car in San Francisco!

Looks like Hippie styles to me so probably Julie's stories take place in the late '60's, early '70s.

Julie's Jouney . . . on horseback!

Julie is Saving the Eagles . . . with the help of her Asian friend - that might be Ivy

Happy New Year Julie appears to be taking place at the Chinese New Year's Parade . . .

Let us know your ideas too!

I'm kind of upset that Julie isn't Asian. A BF is good, but they're not really apart of the main collection. I would like to read a stories about an Asian girl who made a difference in American History.

From Millie:

Maybe the Julie books will tell about other Asian girls in addition to Ivy

Where did you get the picture of julie's books?! That's so awsome that she's from the 60's or 70's. I have noticed that all AG's are from either 1904, or 1854, but they all end in 4's. So most likly julie is from 1964 or 74, but for sure not 54. Girls in 54 didnt wear clothes like that. But you would know better. How did you get these photos?
I like Julie but i will not get her since ruthie will come out in 2008. And i found out that Sara's real name is most likely NOT josette, either. She is a joker.Oh well, we'll eventually find out her name when the movie is released.
Try asking her her name next time she posts.
TTYL!

From Millie:

We believe Julie is from 1974

Her book names are weird. Not the normal ones like Kit and samantha and all the others!!! Does that mean she wont have a birthday book? And i guess she doesnt celebrate x-mas, either because she doesnt have a 'Julie's suprise' book.
I heard that Julie is a hippie.

From Millie:

One of my friends with "eagle eyes" tells me the year on Julie's book is 1974 . . . so that qualifies as a "late" Hippie I guess!

And, yes - the book names are different but so are Kaya's - no Birthday or Christmas there either!

I found the books on some photo site that was from some international book store? It's on alot of British book stores and Walden books.

I would say that these books take place in 1976 because that was when the bicentennial was and one of the pics is a patriotic pic

From Millie:

Some people with "eagle" eyes tell me the book cover says 1974 . . . and all of the other historical books end in 4

From Millie:

Getting an Asian girl is good . . . even if she had to come as a friend doll!
