Julie, the Historical Doll in 2007
The Julie Mystery continues as we all wonder about the newest Historical Doll! Here's more information from an American Girl Doll Fan Website:
American Girl will be releasing the following titles with a publication date of August 20, 2007:
Julie Tells Her Story
Julie and the Eagles
Happy New Year, Julie!
Changes for Julie
Good Luck, Ivy
We can also learn from the isbn.nu (Note: Book catalog entries) entries that Julie and her friend Ivy will be 20th century historical characters. The category under which these books are listed is "Juvenile Fiction - Historical - United States - 20th Century." There's plenty of speculation about which decade the girls are from, as well as what ethnicity and culture, as the book titles, like Kaya's, differ from the standard AG character main book titles.

I'm getting excited but I'm also a little nervous. What if she turns out to be another Caucasian girl? I had my heart set on another Asian girl and a BF Asian isn't good enough. I'm not buying anymore Caucasian dolls. An Asian would be much more unique especially for the Historical collection.
We'll keep our fingers crossed too!

I was also wondering about the American Girl musical. Will they cancel it or just add Julie in? Wouldn't that make the play longer? And MOlly's story won't be the showstopper performance anymore becuz Julie will come after Molly's time period, right? I wonder what play they'll do instead........
Interesting questions!! They did have a different play before Kaya so maybe they will get a new one written rather than just add Julie.

Thank You, Thank You!! I'm going to put the pictures up so everone can see on the main blog! I think the period might be 1960-1970 . . . she looks a little "Hippie" ! Her friend is definitely Asian - she must be Ivy
