New from Corolle !

Just learned that there are a FEW dolls from Corolle that are made in Spain instead of China!! We have three in stock right now - Anna Ballerina shown above and Coralie (both are 14 inch Toddlers) plus the 17 inch Girl Annabelle. We also have an order in for a new 20 inch Baby Doll, Bebe Cheri, that is made in Spain. She can wear actual 3 month baby clothes!!

Also new from Corolle, and already up on our site, are two more cloth dolls that are approved for babies under 12 months. They are soft and cuddley and called Babipouce Flower (shown below) and Babipouce Asian.
They are the newest additions to our Cloth Doll section.

We've decided to add the 13 inch Les Cheries dolls to DollCloset.com. These are pretty girl dolls who are just perfect for girls 5 years and up. Camille Ballerina shown below has arrived . . . but the others haven't yet. We'll let you know as soon as they do!

Expect to see soon a brunette ballerina, Chloe, plus a basic Chloe and Camille and basic Cecile (African American) and basic Cathy (Asian). Each comes in a very trendy outfit! And wait until you see the wardrobe . . . which is already here but we don't have pictures yet. You and your girl will love these!

Sasha and American Girl Dolls Work Together!

This is a picture of my Sasha doll dressed for a luncheon with other Sasha dolls . . . and the people who love them!

Sasha dolls were sculpted by the Swiss artist Sasha Morgenthaler. Her vision was to create dolls that represented and reflected the spirit of children of all races and cultures during their age of innocence.

Unfortunately, her original dolls were too expensive for most families. But then the 16" version you see pictured above was created and produced in the late 1960's by two different companies. Sasha doll production ended in 2001 BUT there are many who love and collect these dolls - and PLAY with them! They are NOT regulated to a shelf to never be touched.

Here's an example of a Sasha Baby wearing a handmade outfit that was auctioned for a children's charity at a Sasha Festival. Since the 1980's there has been a Sasha Festival somewhere in the USA - this year it will be in Omaha. In 2010 it will be in San Francisco (so you can expect us to be involved!)

Many of my friends who have American Girl dolls also have Sasha dolls because they are both beautiful dolls intended for play! At the recent Sasha luncheon, one of the women discussed her personal project to help abused children through the organization ChildHelp.

She personally donates an American Girl doll for each and every girl living in the southern California home. The dolls are NEW and selected to have the same physical look of the girl. The letters of thanks she receives are heartwarming!

Those of us at the Sasha lunchon were able to donate money to the organization for a special Birthday outing ten girls are going to be making to the American Girl Place. Now each girl will have spending money of her own to buy something while there. That's a happy ending!

Betsy McCall Doll Special Buy!

We are so pleased to add some of Tonner's Betsy McCall dolls that were sold out long ago! These are new, from 2005 or 2006 and never removed from their boxes. We have a few 14 inch dolls (and outfits) plus a few tiny 8 inch dolls.

Above is one of my 14" favorites, Thoroughly Modern Betsy - isn't she adorable?! We also have several outfits including the Sunshine Smile sundress that comes with sandals and sunglasses. And, of course, the Little Miss Patriot Outfit shown below:

For those of you that prefer the Tiny 8 inch size, we have both the Classic Stripes blonde doll and also Tiny Dru. Plus we have the new (to us) Tiny ensemble, A Day in the Sunshine! Do remember Betsy's dog Nosey - we still have some ready for the Circus!

PS: Did you know that Tonner Dolls is no longer carrying Betsy McCall or Mary Englebreit dolls? They are now under Effanbee Dolls

New Year Celebration Sale!

It's the start of the Lunar New Year and celebrations are all around us. The Chinese New Year Parade is a BIG event in San Francisco where Julie and Ivy lived . . . in fact I heard today that the Chinese community in the San Francisco area is the largest outside of China! Also, that the Parade with the Dragon (see Julie's book cover) was started here to share Chinese traditions with their new country.

Have your dolls share in the traditions (and save during the sale) by wearing one of these wonderful outfits:

First shown on the far left you'll see our Ivy and Julie dolls modeling two different Chinese type outfits - perfect for them to wear as they watch the Parade!

In the next picture, our models are wearing a traditional Chinese and Japanese dress.

The last view is a Korea and Vietnamese traditional dress - wonderful ways to share in the celebrations!

The Asian outfits and the Vietnam doll from Madame Alexander shown below are on sale through February 21, 2008.

Happy New Year! Gung Hay Fat Choy!

New American Girl Items on DollCloset.com

Everyone has been talking about Ruthie, Kit's friend in the books, the film (as played by Madison Davenport) and the doll coming out in May or June! What will she look like??
The picture above is the cover of Ruthie's book, "Really, Truly Ruthie" so that should give us an idea . . . plus check out the Kit movie preview (starring Abigail Breslin as Kit) at www.americangirl.com to see Ruthie. The doll should look just about the same - very pretty!! We will have the book but it won't be released until May 2008 . . .

In the meantime we have some brand new American Girl Frame Puzzles ie three different puzzle pictures of the same American Girl, all in one box. Each puzzle has 50 pieces AND can be placed into a frame (included) so that you can hang your creation on a wall or display on a desk or bookcase. The perfect way to have fun and to decorate with American Girl dolls!

The picture above shows the Addy Frame Puzzle . . . it's on sale along with all other Addy items (books, paper doll) to help celebrate Black History Month this February.

We also have Felicity Frame Puzzles,

Samantha Frame Puzzles,

and Julie Frame Puzzles!

We're expecting Frame Puzzles for Molly, Kit, Kirsten, Josefina and Kaya in June.

The new Kit Mystery book, "A Thief in the Theater", will be arriving later this month - here's what the cover looks like and what we know so far:

"It's 1935 and Kit Kittredge is volunteering backstage for a local theater company. She plans to write an exciting newspaper article about a new play that stars famous actors from New York City. But behind the scenes, Kit and her friend Stirling discover more drama than they bargained for!"

We'll let you know when the book arrives - it sounds exciting!
